Fabric Organizer
written by marieann
My stash used to be in a giant pile. I never knew exactly which fabrics I had and I wasn’t inspired by the mess. This idea is so easy it’s almost not worth posting. But it took me 25 years to think of, so I’ll share. It’s just like home-style fabric bolts.
Materials:
Cardboard scraps (at least 10″ x 6″)
Tools:
Box cutter
Instructions:
1. Decide on the size you want your reels. If you have a lot of smaller pieces fabrics, you’ll want the pieces smaller (and vice versa if you have larger pieces). Also keep in mind the smaller the reels, the fatter they will be.
2. Fold the fabric width in half, triples, etc. to make it about the same width as the height as your reels.
3. Fold the fabric around the reel.
4. Tape or pin the end in place.

haha i JUST posted in my blog about my new craft studio, where i used this EXACT method for my fabric! yeah, high five!!
